Filter Tasks

Learn how to filter tasks by status, tags, due dates, and other conditions. Also covers saving favorite filters.

This article explains how to use the filter feature to narrow down your tasks.

Open the Filter Menu

Click the “Search” button in the sidebar.

A popover for configuring filters will appear.

Search by Keyword

  1. Type a keyword in the search field of the filter menu.
  2. Only tasks matching the title or tags will be displayed.

Separating multiple keywords with spaces narrows results to tasks containing all the keywords.

Filter by Status

Display only tasks with a specific status.

  1. Open the “Status” section in the filter menu.
  2. Click to select the statuses you want to display.
    • Not Started
    • In Progress
    • Paused
    • Completed
  3. Selecting multiple statuses shows tasks matching any of them.

To deselect, click again.

Filter by Tags

Display only tasks with specific tags.

  1. Open the “Tags” section in the filter menu.
  2. Click to select the tags you want to display.
  3. When multiple tags are selected, only tasks with all selected tags are shown (AND condition).

Switch to OR Condition

To display tasks with any of the selected tags:

  1. Switch the “Condition” for the tag filter to “OR”.
  2. Tasks with at least one of the selected tags will be displayed.

Filter by Due Date

Narrow down tasks by due date range.

  1. Open the “Due Date” section in the filter menu.
  2. Set a start date and end date, or select a preset.

Due Date Filter Presets

You can also filter by any custom period by manually setting the start and end dates.

Filter by Sleep

Show or hide sleeping tasks.

  1. Open the “Sleep” section in the filter menu.
  2. Choose from the following options.
    • All: Show regardless of Sleep status
    • Awake: Only non-sleeping tasks
    • Sleeping: Only sleeping tasks

Reset Conditions

Reset all conditions.

  1. Click the ”×” icon next to the “Search” button in the sidebar.
  2. Or click the “Reset Conditions” button in the filter menu.

Save Favorite Filters

Save frequently used filter conditions so you can quickly recall them.

Save a Favorite

  1. Set the filter conditions.
  2. Click “Save to Favorites” at the bottom of the filter menu.
  3. Enter a name and click “Save”.

Use a Favorite

  1. Click the “Favorites” button in the sidebar.
  2. Click the saved filter name.
  3. The conditions are applied.

Delete a Favorite

  1. Open the filter menu.
  2. Click the “Delete” icon next to the favorite you want to remove.
  3. Select “Delete” in the confirmation dialog.

Quick Filter Buttons

The sidebar includes buttons for frequently used filters.

Simply click to apply the filter immediately.

To display completed tasks, select “Completed” in the Status section of the filter menu.

Combining Filters

Multiple filter conditions can be applied simultaneously.

Example: “Work” tag + “In Progress” status + This week’s due date

Only tasks matching all conditions will be displayed.

When filters are applied, a filter summary is displayed on the “Search” button in the sidebar.
