Edit and Delete Tasks

Learn how to create, edit, and delete tasks in kakiko, including status changes and setting tags and due dates.

This article explains how to edit, delete, and change the status of tasks.

Edit a Task

  1. Click the task you want to edit in the task list.
  2. A task detail panel opens on the right side.
  3. Edit the title, description, tags, and due date.
  4. Changes are saved automatically.

Change Task Status

Tasks have four statuses.

In ProgressCurrently being worked on

CompletedWork is finished

How to Change Status

  1. Press S in the task list to set the task to In Progress.
  2. Press Shift + S in the task list to change to any status.
  3. Or select from the status dropdown in the task detail panel.

To mark as completed: Click the checkbox to set the task to “Completed”.

Set Tags

Tags are used to categorize tasks.

  1. Click the “Tags” field in the task detail panel.
  2. Select an existing tag or type a new tag name.
  3. Press Enter or click a tag to add it.

To remove a tag, click the sort button in the sidebar, then click the delete button next to the tag.

Set a Due Date

  1. Click the “Due Date” field in the task detail panel.
  2. Select a date from the calendar or use a quick option.
    • Today
    • Tomorrow
    • This week
    • Next week
  3. To remove the due date, click “Clear”.

Delete a Task

  1. Open the task detail panel.
  2. Click the “Delete” button in the upper right.
  3. Select “Delete” in the confirmation dialog.

Put a Task to Sleep

Tasks you don’t need to deal with right now can be put to Sleep to temporarily hide them.

  1. Click the “Sleep” field in the task detail panel.
  2. Select a date for the task to reappear, or select “Someday”.
  3. When the specified date arrives, the task will automatically reappear.

To remove Sleep, select “Clear” from the same field.
